Barrow Global Methodist Church celebrates first year
Barrow Global Methodist Church celebrated its one-year anniversary Jan. 8. The celebration included a catered dinner with about 80 attendees.
Barrow GMC is a member of the newly-formed Global Methodist Church denomination, which broke away from the United Methodist Church last year. The congregation meets Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. at 239 W. Candler Street, Winder, in the First Presbyterian Church building. The pastor is Rev. Dave Hinson.
Church member Paul Innecken said, “If you are looking for a church home where the Word of God is celebrated and preached, we would love to have you join us.”
The church follows a small-group format, including a men’s fellowship and Bible study on Wednesday mornings at 6:30 and several women’s and mixed Bible study groups. Every church service is followed by meet and greet time with food and coffee in the church fellowship hall.
Rev. Hinson says he is excited about the future of the GMC and especially that of Barrow GMC. “All the great things happening at the church are due to the presence of the Holy Spirit. As a result, the focus stays on Jesus Christ.”
More information can be found on the church Website, http://www.barrowglobalgmc.org and on their Facebook page.
